Celebrating a birthday? Gerringong resident Bev Sherwood has more candles than most.
Last Thursday, the town’s fire brigade members showered her with gifts. Friday, she celebrated with the entire town with her favourite colour – pink – displayed in abundance.
Thanks to Sue McGilvray, other revellers and the Bowling Club bus, she was carried through the town in the Bolo bus – suitable decked out – finally arriving to a public welcome at the Public School.
The crowd sang Happy Birthday – followed by the Elton John song ‘I’m Still Standing.
