Kiama Boomerang Bags held a recent open day at the Sewing Shed at the Iluka Tennis Clubhouse in Flinders Avenue Kiama Downs, welcoming some Kiama High school students who took part in the day.
Some of the regulars are ex-sewing teachers from school and TAFE.
Kiama Boomerang Bags is a volunteer community group that meets weekly to turn donated fabrics into shopping bags as a project of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Kiama.
One of the new products is the Very Important Bag which is both stronger and larger than the usual bag.
It is sold weekly at the Wednesday Kiama markets.
