Kiama Council continues to regularly drug and alcohol test its councillors and CEO before council meetings as part of its Alcohol and other drugs procedure for councillors.
At the last meeting 4 councillors were randomly selected and tested.
The Policy can be found on the Kiama council website, and it is not clear if a councillor would be asked to leave the meeting and lose their vote if found to have tested positive and be judged impaired.
