Blue Haven Aged Care have announced they will continue its current level of screening for covid despite NSW public health orders to relax some requirements.
This followed the first death of a resident at Blue Haven, 93 year old former Kiama Independent editor Kevin Whalan, who died in Shoalhaven hospital on June 25, 10 days after contracting covid.
The Chief Operating Officer has offered his condolences to the Whalan family.
Blue Haven has currently no active cases and 92 per cent of residents have received four doses of covid vaccine.
