Last Thursday’s extraordinary meeting of Kiama Councillors passed a motion to initiate the sale of Blue Haven Bonaira.

The campus will go on the market to provide liquidity for the council to meet existing commitments, with the threat of the state administration hanging over the organisation.

The vote was 5-4 in favour of the Bonaira sale, with a motion to look at other areas to raise cash failing.

Disposal of the facility is expected to take some time. The land (formerly Kiama Hospital) will require reclassification from community to operational.

Kiama Council will retain Blue Haven Terralong.
