A proposal to build a new 60-plus lot subdivision near Spring Creek is getting opposition from local residents over flooding concerns.
The project cost will be 35 million, which means the approval will go to the Joint Region Planning Panel rather than through Kiama Council.
Kiama council has land adjacent it is planning to develop but is restricted by proximity to quarry blasting.
Local resident Darcy Moore stated his concerns are focused on the only entrance being Dido Street, which is already regularly subject to flooding.
The project plans to add private roads and stormwater drains.
