Kiama Council has completed another project stage to re-open Jamberoo Mountain Road, submitting its proposed repairs to the NSW Government for approval.
Director of Engineering and Works Mike Dowd said a detailed design could be completed once the proposal was signed off.
The construction tenders are expected to be called by the end of October and work to start by November. Kiama Council has also resolved to write to the NSW Government to seek the reclassification of Jamberoo Mountain Road from a regional road (managed by Council) to a state road (managed by Transport for NSW).
The road remains closed to all traffic between Misty Lane and The Abbey.
