The rescued gull in safe hands

A remarkable rescue of an injured seabird played out live in the comments on the Kiama Community Page on Facebook this week.
Well-known Kiama local Daniel was walking his kelpie Kippas at Kiama Harbour when he spotted a silver gull trapped in fishing lines and asked Kiama Community Page for immediate help.
This led to a quick response with Australian Seabird Rescue volunteer local Byron making a successful kayak rescue, and the bird was rehabilitated in a humidity-crib overnight.
