Kiama Council’s new leadership team, announced some days ago by CEO Jane Stroud, is assuming responsibility for the key executive roles redefined as part of the restructure.
The team is Chief Operating Officer – Joe Gaudiosi, previously interim Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
The Director of Planning, Environment and Communities is Jessica Rippon, who comes to the role with more than 18 years of experience in local government. She has been with Kiama Council since February 2020 as Director of Environmental Services.
And the Director of Infrastructure and Liveability is Michael Malone, with more than 20 years of local government experience, most recently as Director of Infrastructure and Environment at Wollondilly Shire Council.
The council CEO has acknowledged the significant challenges in recent years, which have also challenged staff, especially those who have played a role in the leadership team.
The Council advises that its Development Assessment Team is currently experiencing heavy demand for their services.
There is no further mowing update for the Kiama long grass area following the council release back on the 29th of March, which spoke of some staff shortages, causing delays to the usual schedule of mowing and maintenance of outdoor areas.
