Gareth Ward has revealed the survey results of 552 residents of the Kiama electorate on local planning and development issues. It reveals that 51% strongly agreed that the current planning system is flawed and that the views and opinions of residents should have far greater weight by decision-makers in determining planning and development applications.

Only 3% of respondents strongly disagreed with this statement. 20% of respondents strongly believed that more must be done to progress social and affordable housing.

Ward is standing as an independent and was asked by KCR news whether he intended to be an independent in the mould of John Hatton (South Coast) or Windsor/Oakeshott in a former federal government. He answered neither…and added, ‘My strong preference is to continue to work with a Coalition Government.’

By the way, the former quasi-independents Tony Windsor and Rob Oakeshott are rising the PR wave yet again & have been enlisted by Climate 200 for the upcoming state poll.
