South Coast Pharmacies will be able to offer greater access to vaccines & medications with a three-stage plan announced by the state government last weekend.
There was a minor issue – the media were briefed at the time, but not the pharmacists.
A Tuesday night Webinar updated pharmacy owners, and Gerringong’s Glenn Steele addressed a local service club on Wednesday mornings with the detail. Suitably trained pharmacists will immediately be able to administer a wider range of public health and travel vaccinations.
Stage 2 relates to urinary tract medications, and stage three to the prescription of medications for a limited number of conditions, such as skin ailments, ear infections and contraception – for 2 & 3, the detail is yet to be described by state health and government.
