Illawarra/Shoalhaven councils supported the Local Government Regional NAIDOC Awards on Saturday (30 July). Covid restrictions prevented the Awards from proceeding in 2020.
Last year the organisers commissioned a film-maker to capture the history and importance of the Awards. ‘Heal Country’ – a very powerful video – was the result.
The Awards promote and recognise the talents, excellence, and significant contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their organisations make to their own and the wider communities of the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.
