State approval for rezoning has been confirmed for the 450-lot development at South Kiama.

The area between Saddleback Mountain Road and Weir Street was opposed by many in the community and was referred to an independent enquiry.

For the developer, further steps remain, including a DCP and an expectation of subsidising development required to support the new suburb.
