Kiama Council CEO Jane Stroud has said, “Like every local government, we have our challenges. The good thing about ours is that we know what those challenges are, know the road ahead to sustainability, and are ready to change.”
And significant changes in future management were indeed indicated on Thursday with the announcement of a job search for the following 3 executive positions.
A Chief Operating Officer, a Director of Infrastructure & Liveability (an interesting mix of skills required here) and a Director of Planning, Environment and Community.
The council says that the current Director of Engineering and Works, Director of Environmental Services and the Interim Chief Operating Officer – Blue Haven, will each retain their present roles and responsibilities during the recruitment period.
Meanwhile, the council provided its latest progress status report to the Department of Local Government this week – another is due in April.
