Whales have been observed in record numbers heading past Kiama, with a mix of humpbacks and southern rights, but rarer species such as sperm, minke and blue whales have been spotted.
Popular whale-watching spots include the Minnamurra whale platform near Cathedral Rocks, Kiama Downs and the Kiama blowhole.
