Wespac’s Kiama Branch appears to be destined for closure. Early in July, it was reported that the bank’s branches in 24 regional and suburban areas of 5 states were to be shuttered.
The Australian places the branches to be eliminated at 100. Whatever the final number, some Westpac branches are set to be axed.
The bank terms the move as a simplification. In Wollongong, the St George branch may be folded into the Westpac Branch down the street, but Kiama may simply disappear.
